Recognizing our team for Social Work Month
Our social workers are the backbone of our agency and assist our clients in more ways than one. From counseling, to case management and support services, the social workers at Child & Family Guidance Center play a pivotal role in our clients’ mental health journey.
Below are some highlights of our incredible staff!
Kristena - Qualified Mental Health Professional
Education - BA in Human Services, Psychology with a Minor in Trauma Advocacy, training focus on early onset psychosis and suicide prevention.
Kristena loves to see the progress that clients make and seeing them smile on their hardest days. As someone who grew up in the system, Kristen says that she understands our clients and the need for our services.
The loss of her brother empowered her to work with individuals in need, to show others “they are not alone, there is hope”. In her free time, Kristena likes to be with her children and stay in.
Brooklyn - Qualified Mental Health Professional
Education - Bachelor’s in Psychology with a Minor in Human Development and Family Studies.
Brooklyn loves being a social worker because she can help children understand what they’re struggling with, and that the difficult times don’t last forever. Because of her personal experiences with mental struggles, she is able to help clients understand that things will get better.
In her free time, enjoy playing pool, playing with dog, and spending time with family.
Victoria - Qualified Mental Health Professional.
Education: Bachelor’s and Master’s in Social work from UTA with a focus in Mental Health and Substance Abuse.
Mental health is important to Victoria because of her personal experience. She "knows what it feels like to not be able to get out of bed or function in general". Victoria doesn't want anyone to experience the same lows she had to go through. Her favorite part about being a Q is "creating hope and seeing growth" in the clients she works with, filling gaps between individuals and mental health services. In her free time, Victoria enjoys fun activities with her family.
Levi - Qualified Mental Health Professional
Education - Bachelor’s of Science from UNT.
Levi says mental health is important to him because “it plays a vital role in our overall well-being, and everyone deserves to live a joyful and fulfilling life”. He loves being able to connect the clients we serve with the resources that are available to them.
In his free time, Levi enjoys painting and building lego sets.
