New Clients

Starting your healing journey with us.

We know how nerve-wracking it can be to schedule your first appointment. Please watch this short clip that will walk you through your first time visiting one of our clinics.

Feeling nervous? Here’s what you can expect as a new client.

Setting an Appointment

Taking the first step and asking for help can be intimidating at first, but we are here to make this process as easy as possible for you.

The first step is to give us a call at (214) 351-3490 or by clicking here to fill out our contact form.

When speaking with a customer service representative, they will ask you about your concerns and why you’d like to see a professional. This information will help us set you up with the right team.

Intake

You will be asked to come in person to a clinic near you for the intake process. You will be seen by a professional who will conduct various screenings to assess your symptoms. Our team will also collect some information ranging from health history, family background, and your financial status.

This will help our team tailor a treatment plan specific to you at an affordable rate.

Treatment Begins

After your intake appointment, you will see a Board-Certified Psychiatrist or Nurse Practitioner depending on your needs. You may or may not be prescribed medication, which can be fulfilled and delivered by our on-site pharmacies.

You may be asked to meet with a counselor/therapist who will help you work through any emotional and behavioral concerns.

The number of visits and your treatment plan may be adjusted depending on how you progress.

Who else is a part of my team?

Caseworker - also called a Qualified Mental Health Professional or “Q”, your caseworker is a social worker who has been specially trained to support you as you progress through your treatment plan. They will check in with you periodically to track your progress. Our Qs can also help you get connected with additional resources like housing, groceries, utilities, seasonal clothing, and more. You can contact your caseworker at any time.

Pharmacist - Our on-site pharmacists can fill any prescription for you to pick up or have delivered for free. They also provide free medication review and prescription counseling, which are sessions to discuss meds that you are prescribed. The pharmacists will go over side effects and address any concerns that you may have. To learn more about our pharmacy services, click here.

Payment and Insurance

Cost continues to remain one of the biggest barriers to mental healthcare. At Child & Family Guidance Center, we actively work to make our services affordable for all. Everyone will be seen, regardless of ability to pay.

During your intake, our staff will collect some information on your financial status. Someone will discuss your payment options with you, which can include assistance from our Caring Hearts plan.

In addition to accepting CHIP & Medicaid, we accept all major insurance plans.
